Bass Fishing – Should You Use a Spinning Reel or a Baitcaster

Quick Look at Spinning and Baitcast Fishing Reels

One of the most frequently asked questions of veteran bass anglers is “Should I use a spinning reel or a baitcaster for bass fishing.

While this is most often asked by beginners, it is also a fairly asked question by fishers merely looking to enter the bass fishing arena.

In fact, I myself pondered this question after having used spinning reels all my life. Just what might I gain by trying a baitcaster… and should I even try one.

The question really needs a much longer article to get into all the pros and cons – but you are probably looking for some quick recommendations for right now.

We are working on the full-length version as I write this – so, please be patient… it’s coming.

I belive the spinning reel is the easiest to use and causes fewer problems. And it can catch bass like nobody’s business.

That said, baitcasting reels have such a loyal following and have such tremendous use in tournaments, they should definitely be considered… and even tried.

But, they are a little trickier to use.

Okaaaay, that’s the really short version. Like I say, a detailed report is coming soon… to a therater near you.

Now… on to some awesome choices!

These reels have the following features:

  • minimum of 6 bearings
  • rigorously tested and proven
  • lightweight for bass fishing
  • durable
  • effortless power transmission
  • latest technology

These are the latest and greatest and are a pleasure to use and show off.

They are in the middle price range so you know you’re not getting some low-end, budget reel.

You didn’t say you were a beginner, did you?

Have a look at some great choices for your next purchase.
